Madrid Open

Yesterday on the 24th of April I had the chance of going to the Madrid Open and see Tennis for the first time live and not just from a screen.

The Day started pretty early because I told Dilara I would join her to go see some players train in the morning. One of her favorite players Zeynep Sönmez trained in the morning at 10am in the 3rd Stadion so we went there and watched her train. It was really nice to see how they train and then later how they play when they are competing. Dilara was so exited it was really nice to see, she even got a picture later with her.

After that training session we went to grab a bite and then we walked outside to the training pitches becaause we didn’t wanna miss the training of Jannik Sinner. When we got to pitch Number 14 it was packed with people waiting for Sinner. While waiting for him we watched the Training of Ugo Humbert a French player.

At 12h he finally came Jannik Sinner the number one, he walked in and everyone was cheering. We were lucky he started to play on the side we were standing and it was really interesting to see how he plays from so close. We only stayed for 20 Minutes because we wanted to go to a game which started at 13.

We grabed lunch and headed to the Manola Santana Arena where the games were happening we wanted to see.

The first game we watched was Zheng Qinwen vs Sofia Kenin, this game ended with Zheng winning and going through the next round. I was sitting next to Yukun who is from China and since Zheng is from China it was so nice to see his reaktion to her getting points and later winning the game.

After this game we watched Elena-Gabriela Ruse vs Jelena Rybakina. This game was really tense from the start on you didn’t know who will win this game. It was interesting to see how close they were with the points. Later Rybakina won the game and was trought to the next game.

The last Game I watched was probably the game everyone was waiting for on that Day. Jannik Sinner vs Benjamin Bonzi. Eventhough Sinner won this game in the end it didn’t look like it in the Beginning. Bonzi was leading the whole time and Sinner had to make sure to get the points to not lose. This game was really intense and you could really see how Tennis should look like.

After this game I left to go home. It was a really long, but very interesting Day. I always watch Tennis at home with my parents and having the opportunity of seeing it life was really amazing and I am really thankful for this.

Here are some pics I took during the Day
